Intensive Japanese Language Program

This is a six-month intensive course designed mainly for Japanese government scholarship holders (research students or teacher trainee students) at the graduate level to provide them with the Japanese they require for their research in Japan. It is held in the spring (April - September) and autumn (October - March) semesters, with students from around the world studying five hours a day, five days a week.
This course aims to provide students with Japanese skills to a level equal to that of Level N4 Japanese proficiency, as set by Japan Educational Exchanges and Services and the Japan Foundation. At the same time, its goal is to provide students with the appropriate levels of Japanese for researchers. In addition, it also provides training in major-related activities such as calculations and graph creation using Japanese-language computers, oral presentations based on questionnaires, and so on.
It also provides a program that covers the tea ceremony, flower arranging, calligraphy, traditional Japanese songs, and visits to factories in order to help students assimilate into a different culture, and arranges extracurricular activities to encourage students to mingle with the local people and with Japanese students.
